![]() ![]() Aperture compatibility with Sierra and future macOS versions is getting worse and worse (since it's not maintained anymore). BULK CROP AND SAVE ADOBE LIGHTTABLE LICENSEI have a license for Creative Cloud, so I kicked Lightroom's tires, but found it to be clumsy and bloated (like many of the other CC apps nowadays.), and worst of all-even slower than Photos for my batch sorting and editing workflow!Īfter doing some tests with Lightroom and Photos, I chose to finally ditch Aperture and switch to Photos because: Some pros decided to go all-in to Adobe Lightroom. Even things like switching quickly between editing and browsing photos are annoying, since there's a mandatory animation that takes an extra 1/3 second every time I flip between photos! Things like the loupe tool and star ratings are missing entirely, and adjustment sets and workspace layouts are present but weak. Photos, more the successor to iPhotos, is a consumer-oriented tool, with a decent toolset, but very little workflow customization and limited photo adjustments and inspection tools. It was fast, it had tons of great organizational features, and was highly adaptable. Aperture was by far my favorite tool for both organizing and manipulating RAW photos taken with my DSLRs. There are many, many photographers who were disappointed Apple decided to discontinue Aperture development. but it's not the end of the world moving to Photos. All-in-all, I wish Apple didn't ditch Aperture. Just a simple open, resize, save over top of itself, and close.Tl dr: ~600 GB photo library, took ~3 weeks to migrate, some things are awesome (access to all my photos everywhere, on any device), some things less so (faces don't get synced, no loupe, no five-star rating system, no pro-level editing/batch workflows). Im not looking to rename file, save in other places, etc. This step is never recorded for some reason originally. I have to click OK every time it comes up. If I was recording this process (which I did), and play it back once with a JPG that is currently open, or use in the File/Automate/Batch, or with File/Scripts/Image Processor, then everything does as it should except when it gets to the JPEG Options window. You click ok in most cases, and it closes out.everything is fine. If you open a JPG that was not one previously saved in photoshop, make a change to it, then close it to save overtop of itself, then you get the "JPEG Options" popup. Mostly because I have HUNDREDS of photos Im having to deal with right now that are right off the camera is super crazy mega size quality that make them hard to work with on my computer. Ive been using the record option for years, this is just one thing thats always bugged me about it and never bothered to look for a solution till now. Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I was a little lost in what you were trying to say. The 6 step is a save as step that save a third jpeg file name with a quality 8 image step 7 is a close that overlaid the third jpeg file with different content.] The fifth is a save as step that ovetlaid the secobd jpeg with the same content that the save step saved in the file. The forth step overliade the second jpeg again with different content this is a recorded save step nothing but save is recorded no quality no path no name. The first three steps save two different jpeg files the third save step overlaide the second jpeg file with different content. Here is an action that has 7 steps that save the current document the steps were recorded in this order however, a fet steps the changed content none saving step have been deleted. You probable would be better off never recording save to always record save as steps carefully and also be careful receding close which can also save. Your problem is you do not know what you want recordedĪnd most likely do not even look at what you have recorded. BULK CROP AND SAVE ADOBE LIGHTTABLE HOW TOYou also need to know how to record the save as step you want recorded. Action can not save file as well as scripts can. These script handle saving file properly and script have better saving options then Action to for script set save options they want and test file existence and change files names to names you want. Most of the time you would be better off not recording a save as step and use you action with a script like like the Image Processor script or the Plug-in script Image Processor Pro. There are several important things to take into consideration recording save as steps. ![]() When you click OK in a Save As Dialog the action recorder will record a save step. ![]() ![]() The action recorder will record an image resize step. When you click OK in an Image Size dialog. There are also may OK buttons in Photoshop. I do not understand what you are writing about recording OK. ![]()
